Planning Application Tree Survey in Exeter

A construction company required a tree survey for a planning application at an education establishment in Exeter, Devon.

Client

A nationwide construction company.

Brief

The surrounding trees on the Exeter site that are within a conservation area formed above and below ground constraints to the development. The Local Planning Authority required a Tree Survey and report to include BS:5837 categorisation of the trees, an Arboricultural Impact Assessment, Arboricultural Method Statement and Tree Constraints Plan.

Works

A site visit was conducted to survey the condition and dimensions of the trees. The information was compiled into a report which assessed how the proposed development affected the trees and vice versa. The method statement gave recommendations that were compliant with British Standards to implement before, during and after construction to ensure the protection of the retained trees. A tree constraints plan was produced which detailed above and below ground constraints as well as tree protection.

Results

The report and plan was supplied to the client as a PDF for them to submit to the local planning authority as part of their planning application.
